Noel,

No, this is not a Silver King. It may, however be a Silver King knockoff for
the Cleveland Musical Instrument company; it fits what limited descriptions
there are out there of the S.K. A Silver King, only nickle-plated and
otherwise branded? Maybe.

What threw me about the plating is that it doesn't look like silver (not
shiny enough when polished) but doesn't look like nickle, either (has more
of the warm color of silver). The inside of the bell is yellow, by the way.
Brass, probably, but more egg yolk color than what I'd expect to see in
"normal" brass.

I really do like this instrument, and consider the money I spent
refurbishing it worth every penny. It sound very nice, intonation is very
very good, and the keywork, though a bit clunkier than my R13, is fairly
easy to get around on.

Thanks.

Bruce
