Hi Sarah
I forwarded your message to my son who is a free-lance bass player in Toronto--a
recent graduate of Humber College.
He wondered what level your friend was.
he says there are lots of teachers at working with palyers at all levels.
Will your friend be attending a Toronto Public School?
if so, he should be able to contatc an appropriate teacher through contacts at
his school.
A clarinetist friend recommended Shalom Bard, on the fsculty of the Royal
Conservatory of Music
His bio is at
http://www.rcmusic.ca/ContentPage.aspx?name=Shalom_Bard

which also has links back to the RCM site.

Good Luck!

(and welcome to Canada!)
