I've been trying to send an introduction and keep getting it kicked back.
I hope that this goes through -- without duplication!!

If it is a duplicate, I'm sorry. That means you will need to hit delete
twice! :)

Greetings!!!

What an interesting email group this has been already! I'm sure that
whatever I have to post in my "intro" will pale in comparison -- here it
goes anyway (this is where you may delete).

I started my musical experience by playing alto saxophone in junior high
and high school bands (marching, jazz, symphonic, pep, solo & ensemble).
Directors would have me fill-in as needed with tenor sax and bari-sax but
that was about it. Great foundation, though!!! Since graduation, I've
picked up clarinet, flute, violin, piano, and guitar. I now give private
lessons on violin (Suzuki method), piano (also Suzuki), flute, clarinet,
and recorder (it's been a great starting place for my youngest, 6-year-old
student). I offer these lessons to homeschooling families and give my time
weekly at our homeschool co-op by fostering the enthusiasm and love of
music in 42 students (grades K-2). I was also blessed to direct our Spring
Musical and work with the voice talent among the student body. Music truly
is life!

I also have my "side job" which is working with our "home business" selling
LED taillights and retro accessories for street rods, classic cars, bikes,
etc. I promise that no one will receive wacky emails from our "business".
:)

I truly desire to further my education and abilities as well as share with
other musicians in this forum. Clarinet is similar to saxophone so it was
breezy to pick up and find a nice tone. Now I'm getting into the tricky
stuff -- alternate fingerings have been a bit cumbersome but a foundational
essential that I need to polish. I'm working on it!

I'd love to hear from those who care to share what challenges you remember
and how you overcame them. Yes -- practice, practice, practice -- but what
did you do to make this member of the music family your own?

Thanks for this neat community for musicians! I look forward to getting to
know others along this journey!

Warmest of Regards,
Karla Crise
