In the 1993 Chester revised edition there is an explicit instruction
that 7 = crotchet. There's no indication that this is an editorial
addition, but I presume from your words it must be?

... but I gather from your words that you mean it to fit in the space of
a dotted crotchet, that is, the 6 is a "real" 6 and not 6 of the
triplet-semiquavers that begin the piece ... ?
