Hello all,

I'm trying to practise the Stravinsky 3 Pieces, and I'm somewhat stuck
with (at least one of) the rhythms in the second. The passage in
question is on the third stave of the new Chester edition, a septuplet
semiquaver passage followed by straight demisemiquavers.

I'm trying to slow-practise this passage but I'm finding it almost
impossible to get the rhythm right at this speed (or for that matter
sped up). The lazy part of me thinks, "Just play the septuplet a little
rubato", but my conscience keeps saying, "If Stravinsky wrote it like
that, Stravinsky wanted it like that."

Any suggestions on how to go about getting the rhythm right? Preferably
involving use of metronome and advice about how to go from
very-slowed-down perfect all the way to full-speed perfect.

Thanks very much!

-- Joe
