Anybody know anything bout Accent brand clarinets? One of my students is in
the market for a new horn, and her options were between the pro model of an
Accent or a Buffet E11. I wasn't there with her, so I'm getting this info
relayed from the mother, but the repairman at the shop told her that Accent
is actually made on the Buffet line, and just branded differently. Don't
know the validity of that statement, but when I compared the keywork to my
R13, it was identical... not that that necessarily means anything... I was
able to find a webpage, www.accent.cc, but it has very little info. She went
with the Accent (the less expensive choice), as she's able to return it if
not to her liking, and when I played it, all seemed well. Response was good,
seemed solidly built, intonation was good. And according to the mother, she
thought the sound of the Accent was fuller than the E11, but admits she
doesn't have the best ear.
I'd never heard of the brand until she brought it to my attention. Anyone
else have any info?
