THis could be great Shalom, Thank you for your interest.

Usually people who told me you cannot play music writting it is
because they cannot do it!!!! I just want to make this point more
clear because of this kind of thinking those people make the beginner
or new people interested to learn this music feeling bad. FIrst
because we do need a stucture and often they are not ore they do not
know how, and we need time also, you do not become an improviser
right away. Often the new player it is people who learn classical, or
other types of music and they even have Master degree. The way we
learn at school we are sometimes stuck with parts but they can also
have feeling with music writting!!!!!!!!
IT is good now the school way of teaching is changing more open mind
you learn different style and it is great!!!
I am a firm believer of both. You need to be able at least to have a
stucture and play without written notes, But likes Shalom said with a
Band you need written notes. At least for them. Samething in Jazz,
Dixieland, and classical do you think Mozart was only playings notes,
why did he wrotes his parts!!!!! I am sure they are all very
sensitive people!!!

Sorry if it was to direct but I like open mind people.
