Well, very good, it's not as bad as I thought.

But, contra Dan, I still want the only other bit of *historical*
evidence available, namely the Baermann edition, to hand. (So I'll
have to wait for the Henle edition:-)

Still, I've seen *everything* about this piece over the years,
including Alamiro Giampieri and his insistence that you put HIS name
on the programme alongside Weber's....

Did I tell you that I once complained about Giampieri to Berio, saying
that his Ricordi editions were a terrible difficulty in Italy?

Berio looked at me. "But," he said, "he was MY professor!" (Berio
was a clarinet player.)

That would have made a difference in Berio's world, you see.
