Having seen the remark that she isn't a player twice now in the same week, I
tried Googling Pamela Weston and found bios of an artist (a British painter
and, apparently in the past, architect) and a few entries citing the books
about clarinetists that we discuss here. I had always assumed (admitting my
ignorance boldly) she was an English clarinetist, and the websites that
review or sell her books certainly try to bolster that impression, but I
don't, now that I think about it, own any recordings she's made.

I looked at a couple of major CD distributors' websites and they don't show
any of her recordings either, although Barnes & Noble showed me several made
by Thea King, Colin Bradbury and a couple of other players, listing them
(inexplicably to me, unless someone can explain it) as "titles where the
Artist is Pamela Weston."

Who exactly is Pamela Weston and what does she do when she isn't writing
about clarinetists or editing clarinet literature? And why is Barnes & Noble
listing other clarinetists' recordings as somehow connected with her. Is she
an A&R person for one of the major record companies or a writer of liner
notes?
