I had been playing an R13. It cracked big time 3 months ago (It was an
amazing clarinet till then) and I have been searching ever since. I have
been using borrowed clarinets ever since.

I just talked to a friend who used to be a clarinet professor at the UofA
and he said that I can expect around 16 cents flat on both notes. They are
both only about 5-6 cents flat. I think that I just need to get used to the
difference in tuning on one of these horns. My local music store told me to
take my time, so I will play these in rehearsal this week and concert next
weekend. We are playing Rhapsody in Blue and it is really easy to play the
beginning solo on both of these horns!

Thanks so much for all of your advice. After 3 months of looking for a
clarinet, I think that I may have found it! Time and rehearsal with other
musicians will tell.

Deborah,

What brand and make of clarinet are you moving to the Festival from? This is
important. You might want to wait a bit until you have made some 'player'
adjustments to the Festival before you do much.
