Mark, I'm not going to go ballistic....

...but you should understand that there is more than one perspective
(and more than one possible budget) --- just as there is for music.

I have been an annual Woodwind.Org donator for many years now, which
many people here who spend on computer hard/software are not, and I
realize that nothing is for free. But still.... everyone needs to
choose their own priorities.

It's not just the cost of an extra computer and operating system and
browser and ISP subscription and anti-virus software and other security
software.

It's also the hassle of keeping up to date as the industry evolves.
Some people enjoy doing it, others don't. WebTV is owned by Microsoft,
and while a WebTV box has miniscule memory and no hard disk, Microsoft
*does* keep the connection 100% clean for its users who simply don't
want another task in their lives --- and who don't want to do battle
with hackers who are, almost by definition, orders of magnitude more
skilled at invading other people's computers.

Nancy Buckman, when she used to post here, was on WebTV also. I
imagine that her reason for not being here any longer is related more to
her personal life than to WebTV's shortcomings. So I'm not entirely
alone in my priorites.

Cheers,
Bill
