There is a very excellent trio for clarinet, bassset horn, and
piano by Richard Lane. I should know it because it was written
for me and Jack Kreiselman. We gave the premiere in Brooklyn and
the Brooklyn museum around 1960.
Dick Lane and I knew each other from the army and he wrote the
work at my request. After a while, when nobody but me played it,
he redid it for bassoon instead of basset horn. I donated my
copy of the work to the clarinet library, wherever that is. I
forget.
Excellent work. We did it on the same program as the two
Mendelssohn concertpieces.
And then there is a work for voice, basset horn, and piano by
Meyer Kupferman. Isn't there? It's even published, or was.
