Deborah,

I play a wonderful set of Festivals that I use about 80% of the time when
performing in the Dallas Opera orchestra. We have a 3600 seat hall in
Dallas; a real barn. My Festivals "cut" just fine in this hall.
What you've been told....is....well....BS. Go for the instrument you like
best, can play best....and enjoy.
