As anyone who paints or does calligraphy knows, the type, size, and
composition of a brush are very important to the final output. An artist
knows and uses his tools (and makes sure s/he has the correct ones for
the task at hand).

Those who are not yet artists and are looking to be one might do worse
than examine the tools of the artist and ask them why they've selected
those certain ones. Obsessing about the tools is more the point I think
you're trying to make.
