Kurt and Margaret,
Your method is interesting, Kurt. I'm going to try
it. The rotation it calls for is in a slightly
different plane than using the 2nd knuckle, and the
overall motion seems to me, for my hands, to be less
complex. Margaret, maybe my hands have a half inch on
yours; I can reach the side key as Kurt describes, but
I certainly can not reach the 3rd ring key or the R
Pinky keys from this position.

Kurt, I assume you teach this, and I assume that not
all of your students can make it work as well as you
say you do?
