Dan,
Often colleges have them. You can call around and see if any community
colleges, prep schools, state colleges, etc. have one, and if you can
make nice to a Music Dept. faculty member, you can often use theirs.
That's (essentially) what I used to do when I was in a community
college band in NYC.
