Do you know which bait is preferred by pest control companies when
trapping rats? (This is true.)

Unroasted almonds, specifically because their odor is irresistible to
rats, even at a distance, when you break the almond's skin by pushing it
onto the 'spike' of a rat trap's trigger.

(I'm surpirised that Dick Vigorous has never mentioned almond-oiled
clarinets as a delicacy. Perhaps he tried to swallow an almond-oiled
swab once, and now he is negatively conditioned?)
