The "rippling" figures at the beginning of "Vltava" (aka "Moldau") are mu=
ch
easier to play on C clarinets (for which they were written), and, interes=
tingly
(perhaps!) they lie better on an A clarinet than on a b flat. Especially =
if the
players are amateurs, not playing on the B flat frees them to think more =
about
listening to one another than about introduced technical problems.
