GBK's extremely aggressive monitoring of the bulletin board is why I don't
participate there more often. I do check the BB at least once a week to
look for interesting threads, and sometimes I leave a message and then
check back on that thread while it's active. Often, however, he's already
cut off an interesting thread before I get there. It especially annoys me
when he closes a thread just because he thinks it's gone on long enough,
even though it's clearly on-topic. My next move is generally "Log Out"
when I find a thread like that.

Yes. I don't mind if a forum allows only on-topic messages (as long as the
moderator enforces the dictum the same for everybody), and I have no
problem with forbidding and deleting malicious or spiteful messages. GBK
goes a lot farther than that, however--and imho, closing an entire thread
because one or two people behave badly is a disservice to the rest of the
participants.

Same here! That's *why* I log out, rather than comment, when I discover
that GBK has cut off yet another interesting thread....
