I wonder whether the creator of a tool should be most pleased (or best
served) if the users of his/her creation put the tool to many different
uses?

Is a creation "best" if everyone duplicates it precisely, or is a
creation "best" if it seizes and extends the minds of many different
people for many different reasons and they put to many different uses?
