Others have posted the quick fix of wedging them shut with cork shims; this
should work.

I've also sealed a tone hole shut with scotch tape. If you use the
non-permanent tape (like the little 3M tape page flags) it shouldn't gum up
the pads too much. Be sure to put the sticky side facing the hole and not
the pad.

A suggestion - if you're going to try a number of horns, you may want to
include the Yamaha Custom Eb in the line-up. The keywork feels (to me)
"less small" than other eephers, more like a Bb.
