Thanks very much to everyone for the ideas and
responses. What's weird is that I can't use a reed
below a 4 with any success, and am finding 4 1/2's to
work the best with some adjustment, even on such an
open facing. I do experiment with double-lip, and have
no problem with producing overtones, but as much as I
try to make sure I'm not biting, I can't think what
other physical factors would cause this mismatch. If I
tried to use a 3 1/2 the sound would send y'all
running, and not towards me!
