Unfortunately, plenty of people are still going to flock to the
cheapest price available for the coveted Buffet R13, anyway. You may
just find yourself unable to buy a new instrument at all, given what
this focus on price has done to local resellers.

Then again, every time I walk into a "music store" and see the whole
line of Buffet clarinets for sale at *list* price, I find myself
shedding few tears for local resellers. All the more reason I do my
best to patronize, as both a player and teacher, the *good* local
resellers who can't compete with price, but charge a reasonable price
and compete well in the realm of customer service.

I fear that while I may be in the majority for the members of the
list, we're all in the distinct minority in comparison to the set of
all people who buy Buffet clarinets. I really don't know what I would
do I didn't live near a major metropolitan area (my entire life has
been spent near either San Francisco or New York City).

So it goes,
