Before you leave home, download the April issue of 'Jazz in London' from
http://www.jazzinlondon.net (I think it's posted about a week before the
start of the month); this lists the principal modern/mainstream venues.
The wonderful clarinetist/cartoonist Wally Fawkes plays most Tuesdays
from 6–9 p.m. at the White Hart pub, 191 Drury Lane (020 7831 0791),
about 5–10 minutes' walk from the British Museum.
Another old-time clarinetist, Ian Christie, plays in various pubs in
north London: he's usually in the Red Lion and Sun, 25 North Road,
Highgate, London N6, on Wednesday (020 8340 1780).
For more experimental fare, see where
http://www.londonimprov.com/londonimproved/index.php leads you.
Enjoy your stay.
Bob
