Subj: [kl] Info on Carl Maria von Weber & Grand Duo
Date: Wed, 15 Mar 2006 16:03:17 -0500

I have been trying to research Weber for some time now and all my leads draw
blanks. The only books in various libraries I have been able to find so far
have been very dated.

Imagine my excitement today when I discovered the Uni library had a brand
new book on Weber just come in - until I opened it and discovered it was
written in French! Alas I don't speak or read French.

Why are nearly all the publications on Weber in foreign languages? I have
searchd on Amazon as well and they are either very dated, or in a language
other than English.

I read that Weber wrote the Grand Duo for Hermstedt, not Baermann - I think
I found this out via some information on this list somewhere - was it
Jonathan Cohler who wrote this? Inside my copy - Boosey & Hawkes edition it
says it was written for Baermann - is this just an assumption?
