That's great. "Swift boating." A new verb. I thought, though, that to swift
boat was to expose some despicable actions of someone who was seeking to
capitalize on military service. For instance, when they attempt to
undermime a war effort, or perhaps, when minor wounds were submitted for
the recorgnition of The Purple Heart.
Is the way to peace, peace, as it has simplistically stated? Or violence?
Hmm. That's like asking if you're in favor of apple pie and motherhood.
Well, the position of "peace" apparantly is "immediate withdrawal of all
coalition troops from Iraq so the people of Iraq can rebuild their lives
and their country. So the killing of innocents and our American troops can
stop."
Now that's rich! You think immediate withdrawal would lead to peace? So
that the Iraqis could rebuild their country? Frankly, anyone who has any
slight knowledge of what's going on in Iraq can see through this nonsense,
and hopefully have a good laugh too. Yes, Dan offered a different, and
reasonable perspective (again, not his), one I find very compelling. I
won't write anymore on that subject, because I don't want to offend
Walter's sensibilities; the harm of speaking out must be weighed against
the harm of not speaking out.
In any case: to post something from Cindy Sheehan... okay folks, this is
getting dumb. Do we need to argue, or post political statements, on the
clarinet email discussion? America operates on a paradigm of violence, huh?
Do I need to write a short comparative history? I'd rather not. Can't we
accept the gracious statements by Rommel and Bill and let it stand at that?

Hey Cindy.. who says you're brave, anyway?
