There are changes to the clarinet part of the Barenreiter
edition, and those changes also appear in the violins (and flute
I think). If you play the Barenreiter clarinet part and the B&H
orchestral parts, you will have a conflict of note pitches when
the fiddles play the same melodic material. Maybe doesn't bother
you, but in any performance I heard with that pair of unmatched
solo and string parts, I merely assumed that the performer wasn't
smart enough to realize that he was presenting conflicting
melodic lines.

Subject: [kl] K622 orchestral parts

I have the opportunity to perform the Mozart concerto in July,
and the
conductor has asked which edition the orchestra should use. I
will be using
the Bahrenreiter clarinet part, but the local music library has
(I think)
the old breitkopf parts. Is it worth purchasing the bahrenreiter
edition, or
are the various orchestral parts much the same?

Thanks for any help.
