I said Dan's was second best to mine, because Steve made what he considered
to be a few small improvements to the acoustic design between Dan's and
mine. The main ones are LH3 and RH3 holes are open on mine, plateau on
Dan's, and the barrel has a shallower angle on mine. But as Dan says, the
impressions are in the end subjective and they are both extraordinarily fine
instruments. His gold plating is thicker than mine and has worn better.

Nubile women swoon over both of them. Of course, Dan and I are both too old
to take advantage of them ....

Dan - you should definitely take the instrument to Oklahoma. Let people
play
on it, touch, it and ooo and ah over it. You will not be "commercializing
it." You will be doing clarinetists a service.

I saw it's "brother" when Keith Bowen came to visit. If it is as good as
Keith's, and he says it is, if not better, it is far NOBLE an instrument to
put
on eBay!
