Just to let everyone know - I heard John and Molly do the Burritt last night
at the Eastman Theater and it is not to be missed! Their performance was
outstanding as is the work. The clarinet part is extremely challenging with
passages up to high C which Yeh executed beautifully and effortlessly. I
talked to John and he said the work is not yet published but hopefully soon
we will all be able to get ahold of it.

The performance last night was followed by a master class that lasted for 2
1/2 hours where Yeh talked about playing as you would sing, making sure to
enunciate phrase changes as a string player articulates bow changes within
legato phrases. The Eastman students who participated in the master class
played works by Tomasi, Copland, Rozsa, Brahms, Rose (#11), excerpts and
Martino. It was a wonderful class full of wonderful playing and teaching.
