David, I'm curious why you'd see situation for the C
Clarinet as being any different. Maybe I'm not
understanding you clearly...?

That's because I don't like the C Clarinet at all. At best, they still don't
sound very good. They are practically the Viola of the Clarinet......... (of
course higher instead of lower, but acoustically .....)

o, and there aren't auditions which players walk in with a C Clarinet - they
do of course with the Eb.
