>>I would *much* rather purchase my horn from Dennis Bamber @ WWBW or Muncy
Winds than the local music store. Most folks who work at the counter play
guitar -

I don't consider Muncy Winds faceless. Muncy is on the same level as
Weiner's in my book. I buy things there, too.

Our local music store's band instrument counter person is a clarinet player.
:) She treats us well. Like anything else, you gotta know what and whom
you're dealing with.

WWBW owns too many companies and private stores to be considered much other
than mail-order any more. It's not just WWBW - it's a lot of the internet
companies that are basically conglomerates in sheeps' clothing. It depends
on the store the horn comes from. For example, if you went to what used to
be Zeswitz in Reading (that Brook Mays now owns) you might get a horn that
is set up if you order something from Brook Mays. But if they pull the horn
out of their warehouse, caveat emptor.

Rafi - if you live in Baltimore, you don't need to go clear the heck to NY
to buy a horn. You should call Vince Marinelli, he is in Wilmington, he is
a Buffet rep. That is who I send my kids to, who my husband buys from (I
play a Selmer, what can I tell ya...).....VERY reputable.
