How can you be sure, by listening?

One way might be to listen for the difference in the Bb and B natural.
The 9th note in the 1st movement is a written B natural in the part for
A clarinet and a Bb for the Bb clarinet part. The color change from all
fingers down to throat tone Bb is often quite aubible.
