The Quintet for Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon, Opus 52 by
Louis Spohr is available for downloading and your playing pleasure.

The world premiere Karaoke performance of this work took place under
the usual modest circumstances a couple of nights ago.

The piece is a bit of a disappointment in that Spohr must have wanted
to compose something for a show-off pianist and four second rate wind
players. Maurice Powell's preface in the Musica Rara edition is much
more charitable than I am here.

I put in articulation and dynamics only for the first page of the
first movement. You can tell from the playing of the MIDI file how
much better it would sound if all articulation had been included but
after the first playing my inspiration rather faded away.
