Prinz lives in Bloomington and has retired there. He was at the
recital that I attended and I had the pleasure of being
introduced to him.

I have had the same experience twice very recently. At the
Clarinet
Cornucopia, at Northern Illinois University, Russ Dagon gave a
Master class (It was a
great class BTW). Scads of really good clarinet playing.
Then, last Saturday, I went to DePaul University to attend a
Master class
conducted by Alfred Prinz (again, another great opportunity).
The level of
playing there was also magnificent.
Mr. Prinz made the point that there are FAR too many
clarinetists - which of
course did not go over well in a recital hall full of clarinet
majors.
