Jupiter instruments have always been and still are made in Taiwan. I have
played a couple of their top-of-the-line clarinets. One was only so-so,
but the other rivaled any Buffet I have played (in other words, about as
inconsistent as Buffets themselves). The saxes I have played have been
uniformly excellent. In my experience (we sell them in my current store,
and my previous employer also carried them), they always come from the
factory well adjusted, ready to play, and they sound and feel MUCH better
than Selmer USA stuff. Customer support from the company for parts, etc.,
has also been very good. We just got a load of plastic Jupiter clarinets
in, but I have not had a chance to try one yet.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
