Yes, even though I did not have the chance to meet Sir Nick in person, I
tune in saying this is indeed a great loss. He was the man who really knew
about early clarinets.
Sadly, I have two lengthy e-mails I wrote to him lately after he had written
to me off list commenting on the Ottensteiner C-Clarinet recently auctioned,
that bounced back. I didn't even know he was ill.
What a shame.
