Hi Dan,

As we are also planning performances of the Gran Partitta in June/July, I've
been looking at the Bärenreiter score and noticed that the German and
English texts about M.111 in Mvt.V do not say the same thing! Since our
group is German/Swiss, we will most likely be reading the German before the
English and that brings me to a problem:

Whereas the English text says, "... indicates almost certainly..." (what is
that?: 95% ?), the German text says, "... deutet darauf hin, dass ...
moeglicherweise ...". I would translate that as "possibly" (let's say 30-40%
!)

The word "moeglicherweise" is the biggest difference but then "deutet darauf
hin" makes it even bigger. If it had said "... zeigt an, dass ... mit
ziemlicher Sicherheit ..." then I would say the footnotes in both languages
said the same thing.

Which is original: German or English?

Dan, thanks for your untiring supportt.

David
