Thanks to David Blumberg for sending a link about the settlement of the
lawsuit between the former first violinist of the Audubon Quartet and the
rest of the quartet. What a mind-boggling nightmare!
http://www.courttv.com/news/2006/0209/violinist_ap.html

Since I didn't know anything about this case, I Googled for more detailed
articles about the fracas and its context:

assets," News from The Roanoke Times, Sunday, November 20, 2005

To make the links work, please remove any line-ender symbols that may
appear where the lines wrap. Quite a lot more has appeared in the Roanoke
Times. (See the links in the Kitteredge article for those; and see Google
for a lot more links.) Of the articles referenced above, the one in the
December 11, 2005 New York Times gives the most background information.
The lesson I take is that a chamber group earning serious money had better
begin by asking an attorney to draw up the equivalent of a prenuptial
agreement. An arbitration clause might have prevented the worst of this
mess.
