To quote my old friend Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull:

Well that's bungle in the Jungle, and that's all right by me"

But let's consider changing it to:

"'Mozart in the Jungle,' what a bungle, I see.
It might be a good book, but some may disagree."

Congrats go out to Bill Nye the Science Guy on the nups of a nerd, if only
funkily, weird musicians were so lucky!

By the way, Ian can still toot the flute as well and any of them, and far
better, I'd say that James Galway ever could.

But even in my snobbish and elitist thinking I'm sure I'll be called to the
carpet on that one.

I don't *hate* all rock, just the sell-outs and the "falvas of da months."
And the Stones, like the Beatles have been more "flavas" than real
influences in musical trends over the past 40 years than anything else. Why
else would Elvis Costello, a great punkster in his own right have declared
at the Grammies last night the without "fresh, new faces, where would the
medium be?" And that means without flux all else stagnates.

So music must grow and develop, and if we get lost in the staid
everydayedness of Stones regulars, or Beatles regulars, or even Jefferson
Starship regulars, or WHO regulars, we are missing the boat, and classic
rock affectionados are like dinosaurs, while listeners to rap are like
lemmings.

Let's see what kind of ire I provoke with that comment.

Shalom,

Shalom,
