That's interesting, but why "verify?" in trusting do we not do so
unconditionally? Such as when we picked up our clarinet for the very first
time and took that deep, albeit shallow breath, and formed the most awkward
of embouchures. We simply blew and UNCONDITONALLY TRUSTED that a beatuful
sound would issue forth. Usually it didn't.
But all that meant was hope.

All this skepticism in the world, and its been around since Cain and Abel,
so its nothing new, troubles me. For if we've advanced as far as we think
we have you'd think we'd have gotten past the tiny insecurities that cause
us to question the validity or authenticity of the Other.

I don't know, if you play in an orchestra, you trust everyone else to be in
tune and on the same page playing their correct line, right? The first
violin give the concert "C" for everyone to tune to, and the is the "verify"
but beyond that it is all uncondtional trust in the Other to do their thing
as they ought.

I suggest that if any of you want to get a better understanding of
"Doveryay, niet proveryay" they should read Martin Buber's "I and Thou."
