I should really let Keith answer this, but I am so jealous of
him, that I'll pull the plug.

Keith has a basset horn exactly like mine including gold key work
and cocobola wood. But he also has a basset clarinet.

His basset horn and mine came from the same block of wood and
from a particular tree. I don't know of another case that can be
so precisely identified. Not from two different branches of the
same tree, but rather from the same block taken from the trunk of
the tree.

And we did the Gran Partitta together. Talk about swooning
women.

But seriously, my memory is that Keith Bowen has an extended
instrument
of some sort (horn or clarinet?) that was made from the same
billet as
yours. If one of them is a bassett horn and the other is a
bassett
clarinet, then perhaps they belong together as a pair? Or even
if they
are both horns?
