I received the following tragic story from Bob Levin who reports
what happened at a concert last evening.

"Last night at rehearsal, the oboe player, who constantly sucks
on her reed during rests and between selections, inadvertantly
inhaled and swallowed her reed. We immediately called the
emergency room and asked what to do. The nurse replied, 'Use a
muted trumpet.'"
