Oliver,

I like this! Maybe we should use "abgang" for the original, modest
Baroque cadenza, and reserve "cadenza" for the extensive, oppressive
Beethovian thing.

Somewhat tangentially, this reminds me of the story (supposedly true)
about the foreign businessmen who were late to their meeting in Germany
because they couldn't find their way off the Autobahn: "All the exits
were for someplace called 'Ausfarht'."
