A quartet that IS mainstream but is effective for clarinet quartet is the
Beethoven Op. #18 No. 1. David Hite did a transcription of the first
movement which has been published. The Kalamos Clarinet Quartet made a
recording of the entire work, and put back the harder stuff that David had
taken out.
