Abe Most used a Shure UT4 system he bought from Sam Ash in L.A. He was
very happy with it and I heard the fine results he got from it at the Sweet
and Hot Festival. The UT4 system uses a tiny mike that is a lavaliere,
and was almost invisible on his chest. The mike was wired to a very small
battery powered transmitter he had fastened to his belt under his jacket.
There is also a tiny receiver connected to the house amp. When he came
onto the stage he would first set the volume over the PA. You could tell
how comfortable he was in the low and middle register. Supremely sensitive
and absolutely no distortion. What a relief, he said, grinning broadly.

Subject: [kl] SD Systems

For curiosity's sake, what do people know about the company SD Systems
and more specifically their LCM 82 microphone? This mic has two
condensor mics. One suspended over the bell and the other over the
keys. I was looking at this on line and was wondering if anybody has
had any experience with them. Another mic that caught my eye was the
AMT WS from Applied Microphone Technology. I would appreciate any
information people might have on that. Thanks in advance.
