I have played e-flat clarinet for many long years and have yet to find one
that doesn't need some sort of extra set-up by a tech after purchase. If
you like the basic instrument, take it to a good technician who will sit
down with you and tell you if the things you are unhappy with can be fixed
at a cost you can bear. Every e-flat clarinet has its own
peculiarities. Some can be worked with and others aren't worth the time
and money it would take to fix them, if they can be fixed at all.
