Parts are not common, but they DO come up occasionally, even outside of
Percy Grainger. I know one of the woodwind books for the musical "Crazy
For You" has some soprano parts in it. And "Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat," too. And I once played a trumpet book in "Anything
Goes" on soprano when we were shorthanded. I believe there may have been a
few legitimate soprano parts in the woodwind books, too (or was I covering
OBOE parts on soprano...?).
