GBK,

I don't think that I am the right person to grade Mendelssohn and there for I try to help my students to learn as much as possible from that poor piece. The second movement has a very nice melody and the first can be used to learn how to play a long tone, a cadentza, listen to piano and many things about style. I forgive Mendelssohn for being young.
