I agree Rien, but I don't recall you ever having once suggested you
are an authority on something which after a little closer inspection
it turns out that you know very little, or that you are so sloppy
that the point you wish to make becomes irrelevant. That, in my
opinion, is the difference. Doing that turns a person into an easy
target for ridicule.

It is true that sometimes the opportunity for ridicule becomes so
pronounced that it takes on a different form -- one of loving
amusement, as in the case of the first page of the Guardian, or, I
believe, in the case of Florence Foster Jenkins,

who was evidently such a bad singer that she had a large following of
adoring fans who bought her records and were faithful devotees of her
concerts. That's a bizarre twist on human nature.
