OK, but the latter is a consequence of the former, surely .... ? If you
wanted to build a bass from scratch to play at A440 you could do so.
But I'm guessing that because of the size of the thing, to make tuning
changes that are consistent throughout the instrument is a lot more
difficult than it is on an ordinary clarinet, right?
